Why should we, special education teachers, teach STEM? Can STEM create a new narrative for special education students?

STEM encourages imagination and confidence, connects in-class experiences to real-world concepts, and ignites curiosity and wonder. Every student deserves to be heard. STEM gives the opportunity for students to learn and try innovative platforms for amplifying and democratizing student's voice.

The unique design of STEM lessons allows students, regardless of disability, access to real-life learning experiences. Give these students with special needs STEM experiences to help them get ready for a future

I love to see the wonder and curiosity come alive in my students during labs, fieldwork and on job experiences. I hope to continue to be inspired and driven by my students and the great amazing world if STEM!
